Children's Ministry

In Children’s Ministry at Valley Community Church we aim to teach every child to “look only to Jesus, the one who began our faith, and the one who makes it perfect” (Hebrews 12:2). We seek to nurture children (birth through fifth grade) in God’s love through Sunday School classes and a variety of special programs. We strive to have our children connect with God through learning the Bible, worship, and small group time. Come and join us each Sunday and see what God is doing!

This fall we begin the Gospel Project® for Kids, we'll go through the entire Bible in three years! From the Gospel Project® website:

The Gospel Project® for Kids immerses Our kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.

We are excited to begin this journey through the Bible, come join us! To help reinforce lessons at home, get The Gospel Project for Kids Family App and The Gospel Project for Kids Lite App in the Apple or Google Play stores.

Women's Ministry

Women’s Ministry is an integral part of our church’s mission: “making gospel-centered disciples for the glory of God.” Whether through small group Bible Study or spiritual retreat opportunities, Women’s Ministry seeks to build small units within our body where women care for one another in relationships that encourage them to grow closer to Christ. As we grow in our knowledge of Christ’s love and strengthen our community relationships, we then seek to take that message of love into the world through service projects and through our interactions with a broken and bleeding world.

Upcoming Events
  • Fall Bible Study | The Book of Esther: It’s Tough to Be a Woman
    • Her book doesn’t mention God by name, but His presence is felt throughout. As we explore the story of an orphaned Israelite young woman residing in Babylon, under the rule of the Persian Empire, we will see how God positioned her, this unlikely heroine, to be where she was when she was. Facing fears and stepping out boldly in faith, Esther is our very own model for how to live “for just such a time as this.” Beth Moore will lead us by video through the book and we’ll meet in small groups to discuss the homework.
    • Dates: Tuesdays, 9:15-11:15 AM & Wednesdays, 7-8:30 PM
    • Childcare available Tuesday mornings through Pooh Corner and Wednesday nights by request.
    • Register now!
Volunteer Opportunities

Our Bible Study groups won’t function without loving leaders to gently shepherd us through our meetings. Leaders are needed for Tuesday mornings and for Wednesday evenings. Please contact Linda Taggart (womensministry@vcclive.org) or AnnAlia Young (annalia@sbcglobal.net) to discuss.

  • Child Care Volunteers

Our Tuesday morning Bible Study offers a sweet children’s program called Pooh Corner for our moms with newborns, toddlers, and preschool children. If you enjoy holding babies, listening to the chatter of toddlers, and playing imaginatively with preschool children, please contact Paula Clark to see how you can help at Pooh Corner.

  • Hospitality

What’s a Bible Study without a snack or two! Please contact Linda Hallett if you are interested in helping to prepare coffee and other beverages for the ladies of our Bible Studies.

  • Events

Do you like to coordinate events?  Do you have a talent for decorating?  Pam Hundal is looking for women to be part of the Events Team!  Contact her at pam@hundalco.com to let her know!  She would love to have help putting on the retreats, the Christmas Concert & Dessert, and also various women’s events throughout the year.

Foxholes | Ministry to Men

“Spaces of rest and brotherhood in the midst of the mission”

On a battlefield, foxholes minimize vulnerability to the enemy and maximize vulnerability between soldiers. We live, work, and play in a fray of a spiritual battlefield where many of us are worn down by sin, shame, and simple exhaustion. Whether it’s a bike ride on Saturdays or pint night on Tuesdays, Foxholes are spaces of rest and brotherhood in the midst of the mission where lifelong relationships are forged.

Don’t fight alone. Join the men at VCC every “Second Saturday as we eat food, share war stories, grow closer to God and each other, and dig out new foxholes together! Interested in joining a Foxhole? Join our group on Facebook, click here.
